__________
I'm a fiction writer, educator, and learning scientist. At Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy, I teach courses and conduct research on community program design, Holocaust memory, and human rights pedagogy. My new project Unsilence is a series of multi-layered educational experiences that engage young people and the public in marginalized narratives of the Holocaust, genocide, and human rights. I also develop and facilitate workshops and training programs on the design of learning environments for educators and students (from middle-school to graduate level) and for non-profit teams. A member of the Illinois Holocaust and Genocide Commission, I sit on the editorial advisory board of the journal The Holocaust in History and Memory. I was a Faculty Fellow of the Auschwitz Jewish Center and, currently, I'm a Global Justice Fellow of the American Jewish World Service. Originally from London, I now live in Chicago with my husband and our daughter.
